Larry Gosewisch is a senior partner at Adler, Murphy &
McQuillen LLP. He concentrates his
practice in civil litigation, advising clients in strategies to
mitigate risks of litigation and vigorously defending their
interests when litigation becomes inevitable. Larry is frequently
called upon to defend architects, engineers, surveyors, and other
construction and design professionals against claims of
professional negligence.
Larry has extensive experience defending the complex and
nuanced claims that confront the real estate market. In addition to
his work with design professionals, he has counseled various real
estate professionals, including brokers, realtors, agents, property
managers, and appraisers. In every defense, Larry maintains a
steadfast resolve to provide efficient and robust legal defenses
that recognize the individuality of every client and compliment the
client's business strategy.
Larry is routinely engaged by insurance companies to
represent their interests in coverage disputes. He also represents
employers before the Illinois Human Rights Commission and the EEOC
and credit reporting agencies facing litigation under the Fair
Credit Reporting Act. Finally, Larry has experience representing
voluntary boards and associations, providing vigorous defenses for
condominium boards and boards of charitable foundations when their
work is impeded by-or requires-formal legal process.
Larry has tried bench and jury trials in both state and
federal court and has argued before many appellate courts. Larry is
a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Litigation and
Construction, the Chicago Association of Conflict Resolution, and
the Chicago Bar Association.
Larry has served as a mentor for law students and young
lawyers through the Illinois Supreme Court mentoring program.
He lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with his wife and three
children.
